MIA’s Golden Design Shines in Sakura Collection Students Awards 2013

Lee Che Keat secured the Tokyo Soir Award for his design.

Textile & Fashion Design students from Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) soared in the recent Sakura Collection Students Awards 2013 help in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. MIA student, Lim Jia Hui was crowned the winner, whereas Lee Che Keat won the Tokyo Soir Award and Tiong Ngee Qi won the Adventure Japan Award. In fact, five out of ten finalists for the competition were from MIA!

On her design, Jia Hui shared that her 2 outfits are inspired by the Golden Pavilion Temple in Kyoto which is listed in the World Heritage. Through this competition, Jia Hui won herself an all expense paid trip to Japan to attend the Sakura Collection 2013 in October which will be held in Tokyo Tower. Her winning outfits will also be paraded during the Sakura Collection 2013.
