Professor Ir Dr Dominic C. Y. Foo, an academic at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) has been recently awarded with the Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer award by the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan (SCEJ).

Professor Foo was granted this award for outstanding research in chemical engineering, particularly in green technology. He is also a global expert in in the area of process integration, focusing on waste minimisation, such as water recovery and carbon footprint reduction. He was nominated by the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) for this award.

”I must thank all my research collaborators for contributing their expertise in my research projects as we have been working on ground breaking research throughout the years. Their hard work and support has been instrumental factor in helping me get this award,” said Professor Foo, who is actively working with research collaborators in Asia, Europe, America and Africa.

Prior to this, he has also won the Outstanding Young Malaysian Award 2012, Young Engineer Award 2010 of IEM and Innovator of the Year Award 2009 of Institution of Chemical Engineers UK (IChemE).
