A designer’s work is like a mirror, reflecting their ability, outlook, aspirations and creative flair

Andreas Dimeitri Pranoto

(Kuala Lumpur – 16th April 2011) – Raffles College of higher Education presented its 25th Graduation Exhibition and Fashion Show – MIRRORS. Since opening our doors in Kuala Lumpur back in 1994, we have witnessed over a 1000 graduates enter their chosen industry, some notable names include Melinda Looi, Teresa Thien of Gallo and most recently making their mark on the scene Jonathan Liang and Tengku Syahmi of ULTRA and MIFA’s most promising designer, Silas Liew.

Held at the J.W. Marriott on the 7th April 2011, over 90 graduates from Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing and Management, Interior Design, Jewellery Design, Interactive Media and Visual Communication showcased their final projects based on the theme.

Most great designers’ creative ideas come from within themselves. These ideas may have emanated from past personal experiences, reflections of their own personality and aspirations. MIRRORS allowed the designers to reflect personal styles and creative flair through their projects.

During the show the graduating students projects were graded by industry judges based concept, workmanship, presentation and booth display.

Based on the criteria the following awards were presented:
• Joey Toh Ying Ying: Best Collection – Jewellery Design
• Izzati Hani, Angela Novelia Njiauw, Novilia Ardriyani Kartono, Natalie Najua, Noor Azian and Ashley Ho for Liberty: Best Group Project – Fashion Marketing & Management
• Miru Lim Siau Teng: Best Display – Visual Communication
• Jamie Chua Wan Shin & Nick Ferranie Yaphari: Best Group Display – Interactive Media Design
• Patricia Rimba: Best Stage & Exhibition Design – Interior Design

• Nicole Goh Li-Ping: Jewellery Design
