Making room for artistic design

(3 June 2016, Friday) Renovating a home can put a strain on not just your finances, but also your mental state. But it need not be so if you have the right interior designer working with you from the start.

Singapore company Artisan Space is an interior design firm that believes home owners should involve their interior designers right at the time of viewing a house even before deciding to buy it.

Mr Christopher Lee, principal designer and managing director of Artisan Space, says this helps home owners to have a good understanding of the renovation requirements and costs, which will add to the total cost of the house. For its new clients, interior designers can accompany them to house viewings for a small fee, but this service is complimentary for existing clients. The service is also extended to mock-up show flats in which designers accompany clients to show flats to determine the type of concept to work on and the extent of work required.

Mr Lee, a graduate of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, founded Artisan Space in 2013 along with Ms Karen Yap, who is the firm’s investor. “We started with the objective of providing clients transparent pricing and guidance on using the right materials. It is our vision to deliver quality work to our clients,” says Mr Lee.
