Miri – 19 August 2015 – Employers looking to hire quality graduates from Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) are invited to participate in its upcoming Curtin Career Fair on 22 and 23 October 2015.

Themed ‘Take Charge! Be a Game Changer’, it will be held from 10 am to 4 pm on both days at the university’s Recreation and Event Centre.

Organising chairperson Haslina Malek, Curtin Sarawak’s University Life Manager, said the fair will be one of the largest ever with the expected participation of a record 45 companies. As the number of booths will be limited, she encourages employers interested to participate to register before the 4 September deadline.

They can choose to register at a minimum participation fee of RM530. Employers who are currently employing Curtin Sarawak graduates, or have in the past, are entitled to a 20 percent discount, subject to the completion of the Curtin Employer Satisfaction Survey.

According to Haslina, the fair will be the perfect opportunity for employers to meet a large number of Curtin Sarawak’s current students and alumni. Previous fairs have seen up to 600 students and over 200 alumni, in addition to members of the public, attending and many have gained employment with the participating employers.

She encourages students and alumni of the university to take advantage of the Curtin Career Fair to find their dream jobs, adding that it is a rare occasion to have so many potential employers in one place.

“The present job market is highly competitive, and one really needs to stand out in the crowd. It is not often you’ll have the chance to meet one-on-one with employers in a relatively laid-back setting compared to an interview room, to pitch yourself and leave a lasting impression,” said Haslina.

Curtin Sarawak holds annual career fairs as part of its commitment to its students, corporate partners and the community to provide job opportunities and skilled manpower. It combines the benefits of a small campus with the resources and prestige of a world-renowned university, which makes its graduates highly sought after in the job market.

Organisations participating in this year’s fair include Confluence Contour, Great Advisor, Noble AV-Partners Sdn Bhd, Press Metal, Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd, , Materialise Sdn Bhd, Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), Motorola Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Petronas, Shell Malaysia, Infinity Abroad, TMF Trust Labuan Limited, CPA Australia, Crowe Horwath, Dai Lieng Machinery Sdn Bhd, Matrio Group, Jobstreet.com, King Wan Construction Pte Ltd, Mainpower Business Supplies, KPMG, MY CareerBuilder Sdn Bhd, Rohde & Schwarz Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Samling Group of Companies, Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd, Speedwing Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, Times Consult, Tiong Seng Contractors (Pte.)
