Miri – 25 November 2014 – A 5-day, 4-night Wushu Training Camp will be organised by Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) from 30 November to 4 December 2014 at the university’s auditorium.

The camp offers an opportunity for young wushu exponents in and around Miri city to improve their wushu skills through intensive training, as well as help promote and raise awareness of wushu as an art, cultural and traditional sport among members of the public.

Renowned wushu exponents have been invited to train the participants. They are William Bong Kuet Jung, assistant coach at Wushu Elite Centre in Kuching and Sarawak Wushu Championship 2001 bronze medallist; and Sia Sio Peng, founder of VR Wushu Academy in Johore. Sia participated in the 1999 Beijing International Wushu Invitational Tournament and holds an international Wushu judge’s license.

The camp is sponsored by the Curtin Sarawak Student Council, Yong Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Service Centre, Lik Tian Contractor and Wu Cha 18.

For details of the event, contact organising chairman Cheu Teck Kee at 013-838 0102 or the event secretariat at 016-296 8332. Alternatively, one can email [email protected] or visit the event’s Facebook page at facebook.com/Curtin Wushu Training Camp.
