Head of Biomedical Sciences takes on cancer charity climb

Head of Biomedical Sciences takes on cancer charity climb

Dr Ting Kang Nee, Head of the School of Biomedical Sciences, will undertake a 13-day challenge hike to Everest Base Camp from 24 April to 6 May. She will cover over 100 kilometres and hike an upwards distance of 2700 metres and finish at 5545 metres above sea level. She will bear all her travel expenses on this hike.

She says “I have close friends and relatives who have been diagnosed with cancer and some have been cured of the disease. Unfortunately, there are a lot of myths and misunderstanding about cancers. More research and understanding on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer is vital. I am taking on this challenge to seek support and donations with the aim to create more awareness about this disease and to help cancer patients.”

Sponsorships and donations are sought for this challenge and the beneficiaries will be the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, Hospice Penang and cancer patients. To support her in this cause, please donate generously via https://epay.nottingham.edu.my/

Please follow the following instructions for donations:
• for Fees name choose “Donation” and “Payment Description” type “Cancer”
• receipts will given but no tax exemption is applicable
