Matthew Ho, one of our top graduates from Republic Polytechnic School of Applied Science – RP SAS, has this quote to share about his journey in RP, “school can be a wild ride, but every experience is a stepping stone to your future.”
Matthew graduates with a Diploma in Biomedical Science (DBMS) with Merit, and he’s also the proud recipient of the Raffles Medical Group Gold Medal Award and Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics and Science. He credits DBMS for exposing him to different areas of applied science and healthcare, in which he was also able to develop his interest in dentistry through the final-year project.
Recently interviewed by Singapore daily Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报 on his achievements, Matthew is also making history as the first RP grad to enter National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Dentistry!

Besides excelling in his studies, Matthew is also passionate about giving back to the community. He served as the Vice President of the Service-Learning Club, where he spearheaded initiatives such as Sports and Games with Migrant Workers and Project Care Event that bridged intergenerational gaps between children and the elderly. He was also a Youth Corp Leader and Peer Support Leader, inspiring his peers to give back to the community.
