Volunteers needed for Happy Hands Health Screening Campaign

Miri – 23 August 2012 – The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Lutong is inviting staff and students of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) and members of the public to volunteer for its Happy Hands Health Screening Campaign to be held on 31 August 2012.

The campaign is being supported by Curtin Sarawak’s Office of Staff and Student Affairs and will take place at Rumah Nunong Nanga Jella in Lambir from 8 am to 2 pm.

Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui will be the guest of honour at the campaign launch.

The campaign will include a health talk and health screening as well as free health consultation for the villagers. With the theme “Your Life, We Care”, it aims to promote the importance of good health and a healthy lifestyle.

In addition, it aims to fulfil the needs of cancer and diabetes patients by providing financial and other forms of support to the local community, dialysis centres and hospitals.

The campaign is being sponsored by Super Nutrient Essence (SNE) Company, PR Motor, Sin Chon Fa Seafood Restaurant, Ah Hong Roasted House, Permaisuri Pharmacy and Yang Low Ophthalmic Opticians.

Those interested to volunteer can register via e-mail to [email protected] before 27 August 2012. Transport will be provided, departing Maybank Boulevard at 7.15 am.
