Kuala Lumpur, 16 November 2023: The British Council, the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations, is pleased to announce the winners of the IELTS Prize 2023 for Malaysia. The annual competition provides support for IELTS test-takers by offering up to RM28,000 towards their university tuition fees in English-speaking universities worldwide, helping young and ambitious individuals in realising their academic dreams.

This year’s competition was open to IELTS test-takers living in China, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

After a rigorous selection process, three exceptional individuals have been chosen as winners in each respective country. In Malaysia, this year’s distinguished recipients include Aisyah Shamsuddin, pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine, Dentistry, and Health; Yin Min Lim, who studied International Affairs; and Manissha Thiyagu, studying for an MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
