Get ready, because Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) is bringing the highly anticipated Sports Challenge back to the calendar after a three-year absence!
Happening on 25 November 2023 in TAR UMT’s Kuala Lumpur Campus, the 9th Sports Challenge is hosted by TAR UMT in collaboration with the Federation of TARC Alumni Associations, Malaysia. This year, the Sports Challenge will feature ten sports, namely table tennis, netball, volleyball, badminton, carrom, darts, futsal, mahjong, 3×3 basketball, and Chinese chess.
First held in April 2009 in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of this higher education institution, the Sports Challenge has garnered increasing interest and participation from the TARCian community for its past eight editions. Apart from engaging in a friendly competition among the students, staff, and alumni of TAR UMT, the event also aims to foster close relationships among TARCians through sports.
This year’s Sports Challenge is spearheaded by Mr Wong Cheng Siung, Organising Chairman, who is also the President of TAR UMT Engineering Alumni Association, Selangor.
“This event is a fun gathering for all TARCians and a wonderful opportunity to reconnect or make new friends. We extend a warm and cordial invitation to everyone to join us in enthusiastically supporting the participants and sharing in the camaraderie of the friendly matches,” said Mr Wong.
This year’s Sports Challenge will be held on 25 November 2023 from 8am to 1pm at the Sports Complex in TAR UMT Kuala Lumpur Campus.
